Module 6 Week 2 Spelling Words (+bonus challenge words!)

Grades: Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade

Standards: Spell untaught words phonetically, drawing on phonemic awareness and spelling conventions. (L.1.2(e)), Decode two-syllable words following basic patterns by breaking the words into syllables. (RF.1.3(e)), Decode multisyllable words. (RF.3.3(c)), Decode regularly spelled one-syllable words. (RF.1.3(b)), Orally produce single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends. (RF.1.2(b)), Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary or many of the most frequent sound for each consonant. (RF.K.3(a)), Use conventional spelling for words with common spelling patterns and for frequently occurring irregular words. (L.1.2(d))

Student Instructions

Select add 1. Look at the picture and select voice to hear the word. 2. Use move and drag the letters to the boxes to build each word. 3. Select checkwork in the purple box to see if you are correct! 4. Select draft if you need more time to complete. 5. Select check when you are done.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Make copies of slides to create practice slides for spelling words. Duplicate the check work boxes if needed to spell longer words. This will produce more letters below on the alphabet. Align them with the existing stacks of letters. Add a picture to the top box and record the spelling word. Editable for any spelling list and customizable for the seasons!
